Can do that too - done.

I can't play this map offline, because it's only for 1 round?

Yeah. You can drive against vrbnjak right now, on my server 'xymph_admin_tmf' smile

Re: Report strange & suspect TMF records here

Summary: In online play no satisfactory explanation could be determined for GenesisCup005 and jamesfever's sector 7, so the entry has been deleted with no further consequences. Case closed, for now.

As part of the standard clean-up procedure/punishment, a bunch of your highest records would then be deleted, including (conveniently for top-hole) that A02 record.

You dont stand for this words anymore ?

They don't convict him, nor convince me, either way. Any average player could have one lucky run where everything comes together just perfectly.

With all respect Xymph. To generalize in this way becomes completely wrong for me. I raced the same nadeo tracks for many yrs now. A average player can get a lucky run and break into top TMX on only a few nadeo tracks. This mainly applies to short acrobatic tracks and a few tracks where insane cuts / uberbugs are developed like A12 - race.
A02 - race has like most nadeo tracks a high grade of complexity in many sectors of the map, that makes it impossible for an average player to break into top TMX by chance. You can get a " lucky" landing and earn a few hundreds for sure. But only being able to do 15.90 on a track where u where supposed to have made 15.57 isnt possible with luck on A02. Until today there are no testimony of uberbug or cuts on A02.

Unless u are William B, Alyen or Racehans, going under 15.60 without doing zigzag is completey impossible.
With better zigzag and better landing, wr is now 15.50

Here are the file Jay provided me, that should convince me that he is no cheater.
Endtime 15.90
http://speedy.sh/Uk6bK/A02-Race-Jay-00-15-90.Replay.Gbx

Early in the thread u asked me to elaborate a few things. I dont know if u chose to ignore my answers, or if u overlooked it. Therefore I repat it.
Main point is: WillB needed a 84 CP to make WR 15.60 back in 2011, racing the track old style. An optimal run back then.
Jayfever had 91 CP racing the track "same way", but yet managing to beat WillB with 3 hundreds.
This doesnt make sense.

Hope my quotes has the satisfactory standard now :p

Re: Report strange & suspect TMF records here

Since he was yesterday blaming a weird bug on that nascar track which I frankly believe doesn't exist and he didn't even try to post a decent time at all I'll have to agree with top. The time with that sector might be possible with a miracle, but I'm not convinced.

When I wrote "case closed" I had forgotten (it was late) that you mentioned consulting a Nascar specialist or two. Please let me know what they think.

Re: Report strange & suspect TMF records here

Testing at the moment, and that wasn't possible 5.14 at most, A02 was also confirmed that no zigzag you don't have enough speed for a .57 and also tested CC Gummi 1 where his 2nd sector is also a bit suspicious. I've found an alternative route that can possibly make it faster, but I don't think he knows about it.

Too terse (like your 11:50am post), but I presume this is about GenesisCup005. Is that the conclusion by that other driver too?

Try and include a quote / some context to make it clear what you're responding to - it's a writer's duty to prevent a reader from guessing. wink

Yes, the 7th sector on GenesisCup005 was tested and we came to the conclusion that only 5.0x might be in reach at best. Wallbang didn't really come in handy, but I guess you allready know that.

Okay, after further consideration I'll accept the consensus that this sector is impossible and a "bug" is not even a remotely viable explanation for it. And also top-hole's elaborations on A02 this morning.

jamesfever is now on the warning list and lost his 14 remaining recs.

Xymph, I have sent you an e-mail.

Private emails in Dutch addressed to the wrong name don't really help. roll I prefer to keep this process transparent, out in the open.

You don't seem to take the problems caused by cheaters seriously, nor my approach to dealing with them. Now that you feel your reputation is at stake, you're becoming concerned? Maybe a little late, as Monday evening when you had the opportunity to show how you achieved that impossibly fast sector in GenesisCup005, you seemed more interested in chatting and hearing me out instead. Strange priorities. smile

So now you know this approach is really serious, even for the fun free-to-play game -- especially for a fun free-to-play game. So that it remains fun for fair drivers, and the Dedimania system didn't get overwhelmed with hundreds of thousands of cheated records by about 10000 cheaters (nearly 6400 banned) over the past 6 years.

Maybe you aren't a cheater as such, but you still did something on GenesisCup005 for which a cheat seems the only logical explanation. That's why your recs were removed, including the A02 one, but that record wasn't the cause (for my taste, top-hole was a little too fanatical about that entry, but his observations do hold enough merit).

As for the warning list, the next instalment won't be published until Sunday. You're not banned from Dedimania, so you have time to demonstrate on GenesisCup005 that the 7th sector can really be done in 4.14s, or something below 5.00s anyway. If you do, you'll be off the warning list before publication, and I'll restore your records. Good luck.

I'm sure the 10.06 by vedran269 is valid, I know he's a good driver. The 10.02 and 10.01 I also find suspicious, but on a track like it's hard to determine.

Upon inspecting this again, the only person that has came close with his 2nd sector and was still 0.05 slower was dedi 8 with a first sector of 7.84 (+0.12), looking at the map I think he went for the wide line for more speed so achieve so. None of the remaining entries wih 7.7x 1st sector have a 3.3x 2nd sector. There is the %booster, however anything more than 100 would just throw you out of the track + you need to slow down to get it.

ISTR seeing that entry at the time, looks like multilapping in reverse. Not sure that's really feasible without the turbo block, but I gave it the benefit of the doubt.

I looked at that before too, but this was driven in 2009 when subtle cheating didn't exist yet (AFAIK), and at a quick glance no other entries by that login look suspicious. So I don't know what to make of this particular record.
